"The Dreamscape series of works holds within it an intense desire in Arianna's work, that is, to push past the confines of her past as a filmmaker and editor. The seeds of her later experiments in analog video distortion and installation-based art are starting to bloom and throughout this series of five 1-2 minute videos, her style & personality start to emerge.
What starts with bright and happy visions of adventures through a familiar urban jungle or a lush parkland, slowly becomes something more introspective and starts to call out to the viewer to draw meaning from its semiotic depths. Imagery becomes more abstracted and loosely connected, and while Ep. 5 - Midnight seems to be more closely related to those early episodes in it's linear narrative structure, it seeks to synthesise itself in a world between abstract video art and a midnight vlog at the beach.
While this series may not exist within the exact same world as Arianna's later forays into abstract video art, it serves as a little glimmer of what is to come in the future of Arianna's work and serves as a reminder of how much her work has evolved and continues to evolve."
